ROB GOODWIN – THROTTLEMAN

Rob grew up across the mid-west and officially started boating when he joined the U.S. Coast Guard.  Rob served 4 years with the Coast Guard, sailing to Australia, Antarctica, and Chile via the USCGC Polar Sea (Ice Breaker) station out of Seattle, WA.  He continued his service as a Fire Control Petty Officer (Harpoon Missile and 76mm Weapons systems) on board the USCGC Gallatin out of NYC, patrolling the Caribbean for just over two years…chasing down the boats he came to love and race.

Rob started his powerboating and racing career with a local Cincinnati, OH. Fountain Powerboats dealer in 1997-98.  He quickly hopped in the F1-20 Fountaindirect.com in Ft. Myers and it was off and racing from there.  He has since then raced Hustler 388 Slingshot (F2), 32 Skater (F3), SuperCat- Lite and of course the Reindl ‘Bat Boats’ (One Design Class) with a full season in 2003 ending with as the National Points Leader and securing the World Championship title.
